NOTICE TO OPERATORS

With the implementation of the Integrated Resource Information System (IRIS) on November 19, 2015, the Daily Well Bulletin and the Weekly Drilling Activity Reports have changed:

  • The Weeky Drilling Report will be generated daily and renamed the Daily Drilling Activity Report.
  • The Ministry of the Economy is taking steps to remove embedded meaning in its well identifiers in IRIS, and has adopted the Professional Petroleum Data Management Association's (PPDM) Canadian Well Identifier System (CWIS). This means some data elements that used to be found in today's Well Bulletin and Drilling Report are removed because they do not exist in IRIS (e.g. well name), replaced (e.g. well ID replaced by Unique Well Identifier), or added (e.g. Canadian Well ID), in the new editions of the Daily Well Bulletin and the Daily Drilling Activity Report.
  • The Ministry has also adopted PPDM's well-established terminology to identify well and facility infrastructure components. This language - including references to wellbore, well completion and well origin - is reflected in the new Daily Well Bulletin and the Daily Drilling Activity Report.
  • Both the Daily Drilling Activity Report and the Daily Well Bulletin will be archived, and will be available in comma separated value (.csv) format files (can be read by Microsoft Excel).
  • The text (.txt)  file format will be discontinued.
  • Rural Municipalties: The following tutorial explains how to sort and locate well activity occurring in a specific RM when viewing the Daily Well Bulletin.
  • For more information on the changes IRIS will introduce, see www.saskatchewan.ca/IRIS.
