Did You Know?

There were 26,300 natural gas wells capable of production in 2007 - with estimated remaining recoverable reserves of 2.8 trillion cubic feet.

Production and Injection History Files (Total Province)

All time historical production and injection information is available for all wells in Saskatchewan on CD-ROM or via the Internet. The information is provided in seven relational data files that can be connected or linked together. All data is provided in ASCII text format. A sample of information contained within each file is as follows:

  1. Well Identifier File (well location, horizon code, well type, pool code, licence number)
  2. Production File (production date, hours on production, volumes)
  3. Injection File (injection date, hours on injection, fluid types, volumes)
  4. Facility-Operator File (facility and operator code by effective date)
  5. Operator Code and Name File (operator code and name)
  6. Horizon Pool Code and Name File (horizon code, pool code and name, area-crude type)
  7. New Well File (well location, well type, crude type, first and last producing dates, unit code, project code, completion date)
  8. Production and Injection History File (detailed file formats, layouts and descriptions; well types, injection/disposal fluid types, and inactive well codes; data fields and files cross-reference table)

Oil and Gas Reserve Summaries

The oil and gas reserve summary reports are now available for download and contain information pertaining to annual production, original oil in place and remaining recoverable reserves in Saskatchewan.

Drilling Activity Report

A weekly report which lists by production and disposition areas and classification the well licences issued, wells finished drilling, well completions, well abandonments, wells brought on production, plugback wells, well name changes, well licences cancelled, well reclassifications and well amendments.

This is a self-extracting zipped file which contains the following files: EM11fcnc.txt which contains all current facilities and node/connectors; EM11oper.txt which contains operator code history information for facilities/node-connectors that have had more than one operator over time;EM11stat.txt which contains status history information for facilities/node-connectors that have had more than one status over time; EM11clas.txt which contains a description of facility types; and FacNodeMast.doc which provides details on file formats, layouts, etc.  This file will be updated on our about the 8th day of each month.  PLEASE NOTE THAT EFFECTIVE DECEMBER 2006 THE FACILITY LOCATION ON THE FILE ENTITLED EM11FCNC.TXT HAS CHANGED.  THE TOWNSHIP FIELD IS NOW 3 CHARACTERS IN LENGTH.

The Unit List Report is in numeric sequence and is a two-part report. The first part deals with oil units and the second part deals with gas units. This report contains the following fields: code, unit name, horizon-pool code, unit approval date, operator code, operator name, and operator effective date. This report is updated approximately every three months.

Lists by production and disposition areas, the monthly production of oil, gas and water units and pools.

This is a monthly report which lists the following information by area-crude type:  production volumes, opening inventory, losses and adjustments, closing inventory, gross value of Saskatchewan oil sales, volume of Saskatchewan oil sales and average gross value of Saskatchewan oil sales.  This report replaces the Monthly Crude Oil Production Report.  It will be updated on or about the 22nd day of each month.

The Natural Gas Sales Report contains relevant data pertaining to the volumes and values of natural gas sales in and out of the province.  This file is updated on or about the 22nd day of each month.

The Non-Associated Natural Gas Production Report contains the volume of non-associated gas produced in each area-crude type by month.  Quarterly totals and yearly cumulative totals are provided.
